About Us

Textbook Painting has been Cleveland's house paitners for the past ten years. Founded in 2006, by Michael Murray to give students hands-on work experience while providing local homeowners a necessary service. While a student at Miami University in Oxford, OH, Michael ran painting businesses during the summer to help pay for tuition and textbooks. He realized that he was able to offer affordable prices to homeowners while delivering superior quality by only using top quality products and hiring other clean cut, ambitious students who took a lot of pride in their work and aimed to please.

As we celebrated our 10 year anniversary in 2016 we have expanded to be a full service interior and exterior painting company. We employ a team of year-round Interior Painting Specialists as well as dozens of local students during the summer.

We are active in the community supporting organizations like Habitat For Humanity, The Village Project, Lakewood Alive and The Community West Foundation among others. We want to give our employees an opportunity to start a lifetime of giving back to their community.

Every painting company will tell you they take a lot of pride in their work and of course we do also. We work hard to make sure you will not only be proud of the work we do for you but that you will also be proud of the people who you’ve hired to do the work.

Meet the Staff!

Michael Murray

Michael graduated from St. Edward High School in 2002 and then from Miami University in 2006 with a degree in Political Science and Business Management. He lives in the Cleveland suburb of Avon Lake with his wife, Jessica, (Miami Merger) and their three year old daughter, Delaney, infant son, Cayden, and four year old golden retriever, Oxford (see below). Michael first started painting in high school for a summer job. While at Miami he spent his summers overseeing painting crews and even spent a semester working at a Sherwin-Williams store. Michael is an avid Cleveland sports fan and he and his family are proud to be members of Bay Presbyterian Church.

Oxford

Oxford is a six year old Golden Retriever who enjoys hanging out at the office. When you first meet Oxford he will be extremely excited to see you but he will quickly need another nap in the corner of the office. When at home with Michael, Oxford enjoys getting treats from his sister, Delaney, and is starting to get used to the newest member of the family, Cayden, as he is starting to eat real food that Oxford is more than happy to help clean up. At first he didn’t understand why he was getting all of the attention but now that he is eating food and dropping it from his high chair, he is really starting to like the new addition to the family.
